Borrega Fire Morning Update 4/3/2022Location: Approximately 10 miles west of Kingsville, Texas
Important – Drones are prohibited in the fire vicinity & have the potential to shut down all operations.  Location: Approximately 10 miles west of Kingsville, Texas 
Current Status: State and local resources observed minimal fire activity in the overnight hours as they continued establishing control lines and monitoring fire activity. Crews will continue to work throughout the day and night to achieve complete containment of the fire.

As of this morning there are a total of 42 state and federal personnel assigned, including 3 bulldozers, 16 fire engines and 8 aircraft supporting the incident, including an air attack platform and SEATs. Blackhawk helicopters have been ordered and are en route. Texas A&M Forest Service is working in conjunction with Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS), and local fire departments from the county. The fire is currently at 60,000 acres and is 20% contained. Air resources are on scene working on the west side of the fire where fire activity has increased. 
Night operations are continuing the Borrega Fire on 3/30/22 at 0900. Texas A&M Forest Service is unified command with Kleberg County firefighting resources on the active and running fire.The fire is several miles away from Hwy 285, and is currently estimated at 3,500 acres at 10% containment. Point protection on 3 structures and a successful large air tanker drop have been completed on the east side of the fire.
