Titan Fire is located in Las Animas County 11 miles northwest of Trinidad Colorado. The fire was first reported in the afternoon of June 28, 2023. The fire's cause is under investigation. It is burning in Pinyon-Juniper and Ponderosa Pine fuels in terrain with good road access. The fire is under the jurisdiction of Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, and it is being managed by Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 1. The management objective for the fire is full suppression.

Final Note: The Titan Fire is 100% contained at 930 acres as of 6:00 PM July 2, 2023. The Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 1 transfers command back to local authorities at that time. The team thanks all firefighters, cooperators, and the community for all the help and support during our time in Las Animas County. This will be the final update and post for the Titan Fire. Fuels are primarily pine with Oak brush and needle cast. In some areas there is a grass understory. Grass fuels in meadows and in open areas.

Fire Spread potential is low. Live herbaceous fuel moistures are stopping fire spread in the grass.
