Incident Media Videos

Yesterday, a community engagement meeting was held for the Salt Springs & Sportsmans Haven communities to share information on wildland fire mitigation opportunities, emergency management and current Major Fire status. Representatives from Ocala National Forest, Florida Forest Service, Marion County Division of Emergency Management and the Southern Area Incident Management Blue Team made presentations to discuss current fire activities and opportunities for fuel reduction projects around local communities. Once presentations concluded, the meeting was facilitated in an Open House format, where residents were given the chance to talk directly to representatives from each entity in attendance. It was a great opportunity for community members to engage in a process involving the collaboration of these agencies to plan future projects that will aim to protect these communities from wildland fires in the future. #OcalaNF #MCSOFlorida #FLForestService
