Burning operations will continue today, May 16, as weather and fuel conditions remain favorable. Today's burn will be near the Seven Devils Road (National Forest Service Road #517).

The project is a part of the Wildfire Crisis Strategy Landscape and aims to reduce slash hazards associated with logging operations.

Burning approximately 200 acres while weather conditions are favorable for successful burn operations.

Remarks

Short duration smoke impacts are to be expected near local areas. Signs will be posted to make public aware of smoke adjacent to burns and fire personnel will coordinate with the Idaho/Montana Airshed Group to ensure favorable weather and air quality conditions.

Partly cloudy conditions, with a slight increase in northwesterly winds are expected today. Thursday and Friday remain the two windier days this week, with isolated rain showers that will bring spotty wetting rains. Westerly winds are expected to gust in excess of 20 mph each afternoon on Thursday and Friday.
