CAMPGROUNDS

The following campgrounds are OPEN.

They are available for reservations (NRRS: 877-444-6777) up to 240 days in advance of the camping date.

LODGING

 

Montecito Lake Resort: CLOSED

Montecito Lake Resort offers lodging and recreation opportunities for families, groups, and individuals. It is (usually) open year-round and is located on Generals highway at 7,600 ft. elevation.

Stony Creek Lodge: CLOSED

Stony Creek Lodge offers lodging, dinning, market, gas & diesel fuel, and showers. The lodge is located on General Highway between Big Meadows Road and Stony Creek Campground.

RENTAL CABINS

 

Camp 4 ½: Temporarily CLOSED

Located along the scenic Kings River, this renovated and fully furnished “Ranger Cabin” is available as a rental. It can accommodate individuals, families, and groups up to 8 people. It’s the perfect location for fishing, swimming, and kayaking. In the spring and summer, several rafting companies offer white water rafting. This cabin is equipped with generator to provide electricity and has propane stove and refrigerator. It’s also equipped with heater and swamp cooler.

Nightly Fee - $100

Big Meadows Guard Station: CLOSED

The Historical Big Meadows Guard Station and its facilities are available as a rental from June 15th to October 15th (depending on weather conditions, the reservation period could be extended or cancelled). It can accommodate individuals, family, and groups up to 8 people. This Guard Station is equipped with an electric hot water heater, cook stove, refrigerator, base board type heater, and a wood stove.

HIKING & WILDERNESS

DAY HIKING TRAILS

Hiking trails are open. Certain roads to trailheads may be closed to vehicles due to weather, contact the District Office for more info.

Jennie Lakes Wilderness: CLOSED (No vehicle access to trailheads)

3.3 - mile moderate hike to Weaver Lake.

6 - miles moderate to strenuous hike to Jennie Lake.

Rowell Meadow

2.3 - mile moderate hike to Rowell Meadow.

Marvin Pass

2.8 – mile moderate hike to Mitchell Peak.

 

Monarch Wilderness: CLOSED (No vehicle access to trailheads for 2023 season)

PACK STATION

Horse Corral Pack Station: CLOSED
