Burning operations will resume on the Windy Shingle Timber Sale Project as early as today, May 13. The Salmon River Ranger District looks to accomplish approximately 200 acres of logging slash burning, while weather and fuel conditions are favorable. Today's burn will be near the Seven Devils Road (National Forest Service Road #517).
The project is a part of the Wildfire Crisis Strategy Landscape and aims to reduce slash hazards associated with logging operations.

Weather Concerns | High pressure will begin to flatten today, bringing an increase in west to northwest winds across the region. Slightly cooler conditions can be expected today, but will still be around 10 degrees above normal. Lighter winds and near normal temperatures are in store for Tuesday, May 14, with very little chance for wetting rains. |
