Das Goat Fire Update March 30, 2022 6:00pm

Size: 1,092 acres
 Containment: 95%
 Personnel:68
The Das Goat Fire in Medina County ignited on March 25, 2022 under warm, dry and windy conditions. Critically dry grass and juniper vegetation supported ignition and growth of the fire with some spotting of flammable materials ahead of the flaming front.
Today, Homeowners were able to return to their residences. There were crews and heavy equipment actively working on patrolling the area to find any areas of heat that could be an issue. There will continue to be some puffs of smoke seen in the area due to pockets of heat in the interior of the fire perimeter. Resources will remain available until the end of the day. The fire will be turned over to the local fire resources pending any significant changes in fire activity.
Weather:Red flag warning was in effect for most of the day. The morning brought moisture and humidity yet the winds persisted. Winds were mostly out of the WNW and during the day breezy to windy conditions developed. Critical fire weather conditions continued as RH fell back to near 20 percent in the afternoon.

Evacuations and Road Closures:No current evacuations in place.
The mandatory evacuation for residents who live on County Road 2615 between County Road 265 to just south of Paradise Canyon was lifted as of March 29th. Further information can be found at Medina County Office of Emergency Management facebook page.
