Four Corners Fire Update September 13, 2022

Four Corners Fire
Publication Type: News 09/13/2022

Beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow, Nevada Type 3 Incident Management Team 2 will take command of the Four Corners Fire. Great Basin IMT 2 extends its sincere appreciation to the community and cooperating agencies for their support and assistance over the past two weeks. It has been a pleasure to serve you.

On the eastern edge of the fire perimeter, crews spent their shifts yesterday backhauling the last pieces of equipment off the line, making sure every piece of equipment that was taken out into the field is accounted for. Heavy equipment has been working to repair any dozer lines constructed during suppression of the fire. On the southwestern edge of the fire, crews finished backhauling and repairing firelines yesterday and will be focused on patrolling the area today. To the southeast, in the Willow Creek drainage, air attack made incident command aware of some smoke they spotted during their morning flight yesterday. The fire did not threaten containment and ground crews were sent into the area to address it. Along the contained portions of the southern edge, crews were engaged in mop up and backhauling activities. That work will continue through today. Suppression repair efforts will also continue along the southern edge of the fire perimeter, as well as on the contingency line constructed in the Hurdy Creek drainage.

Expect smoke to remain visible on the mountain within the perimeter for the foreseeable future. Do not call 911. Report fire activity or smoke within the fire perimeter call 208-510-8412. Firefighters will continue to monitor the fire area by air and ground and will respond to any fire activity as necessary.
