River Complex Fire Update October 9-10, 2021 Fire suppression repair will continue across the River Complex Suppression repair on the Cronan Fire is currently being assessed and implemented. Ongoing suppression repair will continue in the Callahan and Coffee Creek areas. If traveling in these areas, please reduce speeds and watch for firefighters working near roads. A cold front is expected to move into the area from the north beginning on Sunday night which could bring winds of up to 25 mph at higher elevations. This may result in more visible smoke in the area. On Friday, some heat was detected in the Tangle Blue spot fire and was suppressed by a helitack module. The firefighters from the module were inserted and then supported with water drops from the helicopter. Water dropping helicopters are still assigned to the incident and will be used to assist ground crews in their mop up efforts in the more difficult terrain.
