  Community Meeting Today: Thursday, September 9 at 6 p.m. at the Etna City Park in Etna, CA. Please bring your own chairs. The Klamath and Shasta-Trinity National Forests Facebook pages plans to  this broadcast this meeting live.    

Fire Statistics: Total complex 174,985 acres, 23% containment. Haypress (includes Summer) 159,045 acres. Cronan 5,940 acres. Total structures destroyed: Trinity County is assessing destroyed and damaged structures; info will be updated as available.  

Resources: 816 Personnel; 16 Hand Crews; 8 Helicopters; 48 Engines, 18 Dozers; 26 Water Tenders; 9 Masticators; 7 Skid Steers; 14 mules, and 3 horses. Summary: A new infrared flight last night documented the significant growth of the fire in recent days. On Wednesday, the Haypress fire spread aggressively on the northeast and east flanks toward Callahan and Hwy 3, and south toward Boulder Lake. Priorities today remain protecting lives, property and firefighter safety. A dedicated structure protection group continues reinforcing lines and property protection around Callahan. The Cronan Fire is holding and remains in patrol status.  

Safety: Yesterday’s fire weather watch has been elevated to a RED FLAG WARNING today. Residents are encouraged to please follow evacuation orders so they are not putting themselves at risk and pulling firefighters off the flames to provide rescue services.  

Evacuations: Siskiyou County has issued evacuation orders and warnings for the communities of Callahan, Mosquito Lake, Eagle Creek, Cecilville, Summerville, Petersburg and Sawyers Bar. Trinity County has issued evacuation orders and warnings for the communities of Coffee Creek, Carrville, and Trinity Center. Road Closures: Coffee Creek Road west of Hwy. 3. Cecilville Road west from Callahan, which includes Cecilville to Plumber Creek north and west of the Siskiyou-Trinity county line. Sawyers Bar Road from Hwy 93 to Yellowjacket Road. Please be aware of fire traffic.
