River Complex Fire Update

Fire Statistics: Total complex 116,515 acres, 15% containment. Haypress 75,041 acres. Summer 35,539 acres. Cronan 5,935 acres.

Resources: 767 Personnel; 16 Hand Crews; 8 Helicopters; 35 Engines, 21 Dozers; 27 Water Tenders; 10 Masticators; 2 Skid Steers; 1 Packstring

Summary:
Fire behavior was active overnight and will remain active with light winds and some smoke clearing expected today. The Cronan Fire remains in patrol status. On the Summer Fire, aerial ignitions were successful in preventing the fire from crossing Cecilville Road which serves as a northern control line. On the Haypress Fire, northwest and western parts of the fire saw increased fire behavior due to smoke clearing. Crews will be working to keep the fire west of the ridgelines in the Coffee Fire scar. Clearer air is expected to allow aircraft to use a mobile retardant base at Trinity Center. Crews continue to work road systems and connect fire line along Highway 3. The majority of resources are engaged in Coffee Creek where structures are being prepped and a fire line is near completion. Two helitankers dropped water in Sugar Creek yesterday in response to significant fire behavior.
