 River Complex Fire Update 

Fire Statistics: Total complex 116,047 acres, 15% containment. Haypress 74,888 acres. Summer 35,203 acres. Cronan 5,919 acres.

Resources: 723 Personnel; 14 Hand Crews; 8 Helicopters; 36 Engines, 20 Dozers; 27 Water Tenders; 10 Masticators; 2 Skid Steers; 1 Packstring  

Summary:  The Cronan Fire has transitioned to patrol status today. On the Haypress, unmanned aerial systems (UAS or drone) is being used for aerial ignition to strengthen firelines in several areas including Cecilville Road, which serves as a northern control line. Four additional Type 1 Crews have been requested to assist with using natural holding features south and north of Coffee Creek Road and Boulder Creek Trail. Crews continue prepping for tactical firing operations in the Boulder Lake area. Aerial attack will concentrate on a spot-overs near the Coffee Creek burn scar and Parker Meadow. Crews will initiate burnout operations in the Coffee Creek area increasing structure defense around homes and values at risk.   

Safety: Please enjoy your holiday weekend but be aware of additional fire equipment traffic on the highways.

Today: ·       Continue point protection of values at risk, scouting, structure protection planning to the south and east. ·       Constructing and improving firelines in all divisions where conditions allow and personnel and equipment are available.

Road Closures: Trinity County has issued a hard closure of Coffee Creek Road at North Fork Trailhead west of Hwy 3. The Callahan-Cecilville Road is closed from approximately one mile west of the community of Callahan to Cecilville.  The Sawyers Bar Road is closed from Forks of Salmon to Forest Road 40N51.
