Fairview Fire releases new Forest Closure Order

IDYLLWILD, Calif.  October 2, 2022 – For public safety forest lands in the Fairview Fire area have been closed. The order states Forest Roads 5S15 (Rouse Ridge), and 6S22 (Cahuilla Mountain) have been closed to the public as well as the Alessandro and Hixon OHV routes.

On September 5, 2022, a wildfire ignited near the San Bernardino National Forest on private lands in the area of Fairview Avenue and Bautista Canyon Road.  This fast-moving fire, named the Fairview Fire,  burned onto the San Bernardino National Forest.  The fire moved south and east into Bautista Canyon and Red Mountain, and into the South Fork of the San Jacinto River Wilderness.

Forest Order # 05-12-55-22-12 is in effect through January 24, 2023.  Law Enforcement officers will be on patrol and stationed at various road closure points around the fire to ensure the safety of public and forest personnel.
