A National Historic landmark, Hersherberger Fire Lookout is wrapped with a fire retardant material by Flacon Complex fire crew members. The Lookout is in the Rogue-Umpqua Wilderness where lightning fires are currently burning.

Flames aren't aways on the ground and this discovery made crews stop and move to a different sare which was safe until it was felled.
