Garceau Fire Update

August 25, 2022

Start Date: August 16, 2022 Location: 10 air miles west of Polson, Montana. Estimated Size: 6,724 acres    Containment: 65%     Personnel: 340

Incident Command: Local Type 3 organization, Darrell Clairmont, Incident Commander

 

Evacuations and Closures: There are no evacuations and there are no structures threatened at this time.  Irvine Flats and Garcon Gulch Roads going up to Windy Gap are closed to through traffic.  Please stay out of the area, there will be a lot of fire traffic on these roads.  

Activity: Crews will continue to secure perimeter and grid for hot spots on both divisions.  Helicopters will also be used on hot spots.

 

Weather: Mostly cloudy. Rain showers and chance of thunderstorms.  Temp- 80-85 valleys and 60-65 ridges. RH- 40-50 percent valleys and 60-70 percent ridges. Wind- Southeast 5-10 mph early in the morning becoming southwest in the afternoon.
