Halfway Hill Fire Update 7.24.22

Halfway Hill Fire
Publication Type: News 07/24/2022

The Central Utah Type 3 Incident Management Team smoothly and successfully took command of the fire at 6 a.m. on July 24th, 2022. Several resources left camp today, leaving a reduced number of personnel and equipment in place to monitor the fire and continue suppression efforts.

Today scattered showers can be expected throughout the day. Winds will remain from the west – southwest, with reduced temperatures. Moisture will continue to increase through Tuesday, bringing a good chance for showers and thunderstorms capable of producing wetting rains. Wednesday begins a drying trend and an increase in temperatures.

Firefighters continue to secure and monitor containment lines. Yesterday, smoke was visible from Fillmore, this fire activity was occurring well within the existing fire perimeter. Firefighters were improving the viability of the indirect line.

After more accurate mapping the fire acreage was reduced to 11,701.
