*Landowners located within the 100-year floodplain.*   Carbon County, the City of Red Lodge, and the town of Fromberg participate in the National Flood Insurance Program. If you are located within the mapped 100-year floodplain and affected by the June flooding event, then teams working with our county and city offices will be out conducting damage assessments. Assessments for Carbon County will begin by the end of the week.   These assessments are important for those that have flood insurance as you may be asked by your adjuster for this assessment. Conducting these assessments will also help build a more resilient community. If you don’t know if you are located within the 100-year floodplain you can check the FEMA map service center here https://msc.fema.gov/portal/home.   These assessments are separate from those conducted for Individual Assistance programs. We are working to conduct all assessments simultaneously so that we can reduce burden on property owners.
