FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 20, 2022 – 4:45 p.m.

Taos County Sheriff - Evacuation Update

TAOS COUNTY – Due to a 16-acre spot fire produced from the existing Calf Canyon/ Hermit Peak wildfire, new evacuation measures will be updated for the community zone of 73 Corridor. Due to the perimeter of the fire, air quality, and the issue of limited access throughout N.M. 73, evaluation of evacuation status for this area will be addressed tonight at 6 o’clock on the community meeting. I would like to remind all residents in Taos County, as evacuation levels change and your residence becomes deemed an area of evacuation, we encourage you to take immediate action. For current evacuation levels, please view the map here: www.tinyurl.com/hermitspeak
