 Plum Bluff Fire Update

January 14, 2022
11:00 pm

Size: 150 acres
Containment: 0%
Date Started: January 14, 2022
Cause: Unknown

State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) arrived on scene at the Plum Bluff Fire around 10:00 PM. After tying in with the local responders on scene TAMFS dozers began constructing line along the heal of the fire and the TIFMAS strike team is currently doing structure protection. Due to the high winds the fire is showing significant activity especially on the West Flank. High winds are expected though the night along with low relative humidity which will keep fire danger at high levels.

Evacuations and Closures

Seven local residents were evacuated from the area.

At this point, no injuries from either the public or first responders have been reported.
