Current Situation

The fire remained at 929 acres yesterday. Crews were able to work direct line around the area of the slop over and containment increased to 45%. A cold front swept across the fire area with cooler temperatures, rain, and a gusty west-northwest wind in tow. This fire is being managed under a full suppression strategy, ensuring all actions reflect a commitment to incident personnel safety and public safety.

Operational plan for today

Crews will continue to patrol for spot fires and extinguish when safe to do so. Work will continue around the slop over with the objective to increase containment in that area today. Areal resources will be available to assist ground crews throughout today as well as provide any initial attack support that my be needed.

Shoshone and Arapaho Fish and Game Road Closure
The Shoshone and Arapaho Fish and Game have issued a road closure for the Moccasin Lake and Dickinson Park Road located within the Wind River Indian Reservation.

Fire Conditions and Weather

Weak upslope flow from the north on Monday has enough instability to generate scattered rain and snow showers through the day. The weather system responsible for the cooler temperatures and showers moves east Monday night followed by improving conditions along with dry and warmer weather.
