Smoke Outlook for 8/13 - 8/14 Knoll Fire & Middle Fork Complex

Knoll Fire Wildfire
News – 8/13/2021

Smoke Discussion

Yesterdays observed smoke impacts were greater than predicted. Similar conditions can be expected today along with very hot temperatures and continued dry conditions. Poor ventilation and light winds will limit clearing again today.

Eugene and Springfield can expect Moderate to USG conditions today with a slight chance of clearing in the afternoon. Oakridge, Lowell, and McKenzie Bridge communities will overall see Unhealthy conditions with periods of Very Unhealthy for today. Little relief from smoke is expected. It is recommended to remain indoors as much as possible in these areas for at least the next 24-48 hours when Unhealthy conditions exist. La Pine and surrounding area will see Unhealthy to Very Unhealthy conditions this morning with some improvement by the afternoon. Bend can expect USG and Moderate in the morning hours but clearing skies by the afternoon. The extended forecast brings some hope by Sunday as ventilation improves coupled with stronger west winds.

Clean Air Space

Clean Air Space has been set up at the Pleasant Hill High School evacuation center for smoke impacted communities.
