Bull Complex Update for Thursday, September 23, 2021

Bull Complex Wildfire
News – 9/23/2021

RIPPLEBROOK, Ore. Firefighters will continue to remove vegetation from along Forest Road 70 on the north side of the fire perimeter.  On the east flank, chipping work progresses to remove slash that will improve roads and fire breaks.  Ladder fuels are being removed from established lines surrounding the Bull Complex footprint.Ripplebrook and Rainbow Campgrounds are also being assessed for hazard trees and dangerous aerial hazards so that they can be safely used as a fire camp by incoming teams.  Risk mitigation provides a safe environment for firefighters and future public access.

Fire activity is expected to remain low today.  This will provide more time for firefighters to actively engage areas of low activity while moderated fire behavior is on the landscape. Weather: Today will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday, with high temperatures near 70 degrees. Northeast winds from 5 to 10 mph will occur in the fire area. Tomorrow will bring highs near 80 degrees, with light east wind. Weather this weekend will be seasonal, with light winds and mostly clear skies. Precipitation is forecast to arrive on Monday, with a 50% chance of wetting rain. Evacuations:  The Marion County Sheriff has issued a Level 1 “Be Ready” evacuation advisory for Breitenbush Hot Springs. Residents should be aware of the danger that exists in their area, monitor emergency services websites and local media, and make an action plan should the evacuation level rise. The advisory can be viewed at:   Closures:  For the safety of wildland firefighters and the public, National Forests have enacted area closures that prevent the public from being upon National Forest System lands in the vicinity of the Bull Complex Fire. All Forest lands that are south and west of Forest Road 46, and east of the Riverside Fire perimeter are closed. The entire length of Forest Road 46 is closed. Lands within the 2020 Lionshead and Beachie Creek Fire areas are also closed.  See the closure orders and maps at Air Quality:  For information on air quality, visit
