River Complex Fire Update October 18, 2021 Fire suppression repair close to completion. The River Complex had great weather over the weekend, allowing aircraft to suppress the remaining hotspots along the fire’s edge. A wet weather pattern moved in Sunday afternoon, bringing a meaningful rainfall to the fire’s footprint. Another wet weather pattern in expected to move in on Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. All fire suppression repair in the Cronan Fire is complete. Crews supported by the pack strings completed their repair efforts in the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Monitoring continues as fire activity decreases, and suppression repair activities progress. Fire suppression repair is still expected to be completed early this week. Incident command will be transitioning back to the Klamath National Forest on Wednesday, October 20th. This will be the last News Release for the River Complex but Inciweb (https://inciweb.nwcg.gov) and the Klamath National Facebook will continue to be updated until the fire is called out.
