River Complex Fire Update October 15, 2021Fire suppression continues and repair gets close to completion The River Complex received some light rain with the passing of the cold front. Warmer temperatures and lower relative humidity were experienced over the fire. The passing of the front also brought decreased winds, allowing aviation assets to be taken advantage of. The warming trend will continue through the weekend and into early next week. The extended forecast shows the possibility of heavy rains late next week. Interagency Hot Shot crews that have been assigned to the Sugar Pine Creek area made excellent progress with the support from the helicopters and their water drops. The Minnehaha Creek area has been placed into monitor status as fire activity decreased due to suppression efforts. Pack strings continue to support crews working on suppression repair in the Trinity Alps Wilderness area, which includes removing structure wrap on cabins. Monitoring continues as fire activity decreases, and suppression repair activities progress. Fire suppression repair is expected to be completed early next week.
