RIVER COMPLEX AND McCASH FIRE CLOSURE AREA
KLAMATH NATIONAL FOREST
Forest Order No. 21-05-28

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited on the Salmon River Ranger District and Scott River Ranger District within the Klamath National Forest. This Order is effective from October 21, 2021, through October 26, 2021.

1. Going into or being upon any National Forest System lands within the River Complex and McCash Fire Closure Area, as described in Exhibit A and shown on the attached map. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(e).

2. Being on any National Forest System trails within the River Complex and McCash Fire Closure Area, as described in Exhibit A and shown on the attached map. 36 C.F.R. § 261.55(a).

3. Being on any National Forest System roads within the River Complex and McCash Fire Closure Area, as described in Exhibit A and shown on the attached map. 36 CFR § 261.54(e).

4. Entering or using any Developed Recreation Sites within the River Complex and McCash Fire Closure Area, as described in Exhibit A and shown on the attached map. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(b)

Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Owners or lessees of land in the area, to the extent necessary to access their land.

2. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.

3. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.

A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.

The boundary of the River Complex and McCash Fire Closure Area begins at the intersection of
State Highway 96 and the eastern line of Section 11, Township 46 North, Range 12 West, Mt.
Diablo Meridian, then continues south along the western lines of Sections 14, 23, 26, and 35 to
the northern line of Section 2, Township 45 North, Range 12 West, Mt. Diablo Meridian, then
continues west along the northern line of Section 2 to the northeast corner of Section 3, then
continues south along the eastern lines of Sections 3, 10, 15, 22, 26, and 35 to the northwest
corner of Section 3, Township 44 North, Range 12 West, Mt. Diablo Meridian, then continues
south along the eastern line of Section 3 to its intersection with the Marble Mountain Wilderness

Trail 5401 to its intersection with Trail 5403, then continues west along Trail 5403 to its
intersection with Trail 5402, then continues south along Trail 5402 to its intersection with Trail
5405, then continues southwest along Trail 5405 to its intersection with Trail 5406, then
continues southwest along Trail 5406 to its intersection with Trail 5427, then continues south
along Trail 5427 to its intersection with Trail 5449, then continues southeast along Trail 5449 to
its intersection with Road 40N33, then continues south along Road 40N33 to its intersection with

the Six Rivers National Forest and the Klamath National Forest, then continues north along the
Forest Boundary to its intersection with the Administrative Forest Boundary between the Six
Rivers National Forest and the Klamath National Forest, then continues north and then west
along the Administrative Forest Boundary to its intersection with State Highway 96, then
continues north along State Highway 96 to the starting point at the intersection of State Highway
96 and the eastern line of Section 11, Township 46 North, Range 12 West, Mt. Diablo Meridian.
