HAPPY CAMP, Calif. – California Interagency Incident Management Team will transfer command of the McCash Fire tomorrow, Friday, October 15th  at 4 p.m.. A Type 3 organization will assume command of the fire.  

This will be the LAST UPDATE for the McCash Fire unless conditions change. Crews have almost completed road grading work and suppression repair, and hazard tree removal continues. All structures have been unwrapped and all evacuations have been lifted. A Forest Closure remains in place around the McCash Fire perimeter. The current closure expires tomorrow, October 15. A new closure is anticipated. Residents and recreators are advised to check the Klamath or Six Rivers National Forest webpages for the latest closure information.  

A few high clouds may linger in the area today, with warmer temperatures and low relative humidity expected through the next few days. A cold front is expected to push into the area on Sunday, again bringing the potential for precipitation.  


COVID-19: Federal, State, and Local guidelines are being followed for COVID-19 mitigation and preventative measures are in place to reduce the spread potential. A COVID-19 advisor is assigned to the incident and rapid testing and vaccination services are available on-site for all resources. Firefighter safety and public safety remain the highest priority.  


Closures: Forest closures are in effect for the fire area; check maps before you plan any activity in the forest. Please respect the fire closures for your safety and firefighter safety. Evacuations: There are no evacuation warnings or orders associated with the McCash Fire.  


Smoke and air quality:  Smoke outlooks have been discontinued for the area.
