McFarland Fire Update
The McFarland fire continues to hold in the current containment footprint. Minimal fire behavior was observed on the fire and areas of scattered heat are decreasing as fuels continue to burn out. Fire crews will continue to mop-up and patrol existing containment lines. A slight increase in RH and a decrease in wind speeds is expected over the fire area over the next couple of days. A near steady trend Thursday and Friday with highs mostly in the 80s and minimum RHs around 15-20%. A warming trend thereafter will bring back temperatures to around 90 by the weekend.
As of 0800 on 08/28 all mandatory evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted however, the Regional Office has issued a forest closure for all National Forests effective 08/31 @ 12 p.m. until 9/17.
