On October 24th at 6pm, incident officials declared the Dixie Fire to be 100% contained after affecting 963,309 acres. The announcement came after an exceptionally wet winter storm moved into the area and reduced the likelihood of the fire escaping containment to near zero. People in the area still may see smoke coming from the interior of the fire as larger fuels will not be fully extinguished by the storm. No further updates will be posted to the Dixie Fire Inciweb page.
