EMERGENCY AREA CLOSURE

Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited in the areas described in this order on National Forest System lands within the administrative boundaries of the Willamette National Forest. This Order is effective on August 11, 2021 through November 30, 2021, or until rescinded.PROHIBITIONS:1. Being on a road. 36 CFR § 261.54(e)2. Being on a trail. 36 CFR § 261.55(a)3. Entering or using a developed recreation site or portion thereof. 36 CFR § 261.58 (b)4. Entering into or being upon National Forest System Lands closed for the protection of public health or safety. 36 CFR § 261.53(e)

CLOSURE DESCRIPTION: The closure is contained within the State of Oregon, within Linn County, and within the Administrative Boundaries of the Willamette National Forest. The closure includes the US Forest Service general forest areas, and roads as described below and as depicted on the attached map and incorporated into this order as “Exhibit A”. The Bruler Fire Closure Area begins at the intersection of Forest Service (FS) Road 11 and FS Road 1155. It then goes north along the east side of FS Road 1155 until the junction with FS Road 1133 (1155 remains open), then it goes east along the 1133 to the southwest corner of section 16 of T11S, R5E. The boundary goes north along the west edge of section 16 and section 9 of T 11S, R 5E to the northwest corner of section 9. At this junction it follows the northern edge of sections 9, 10, 11, and 12 to the east until it reaches the intersection of FS Road 1012. It then follows along the north side of FS Road 1012 until it intersects FS Road 10, and then south east to the intersection of FS Road 10 and FS Road 1014. FS Road 10remains open. FS Road 1014 is closed. It then continues south along FS Road 1014 to the intersection of FS Road 1133 turning south on FS Road 1133 to the intersection of FS Road 11. Then it goes back to the west along Road 11 to the intersection of FS Road 11 and 1155 where it ends. Everything north of FS Road 11 is closed; however, travel is permitted on FS Road 11.

EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:(1) Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order) specifically exempting them for this Order;(2) Owners or lessees of land in the area. Lessees of Recreation Residences inside the closure areas must have written permission specifically authorizing entry and identifying the person/address applicable.(3) Any Federal, State, or Local Officer or member in the performance of an official duty. These restrictions are implemented for the safety of the public. These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subparts A, B and C. Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for a corporation or imprisonment for not more than six months or both. 16 USC § 551 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.
