Current Situation: The Morgan Creek Fire area closure has been reduced, allowing for more access to Routt National Forest to the west and southern sides of the fire area. Fire activity has been minimal for the past two weeks, but users should remain aware of their surroundings and changing conditions. Crews will remain in the area to improve line construction, patrol, and monitor for new activity. This will be the last update until a substantial change in activity. Community information boards will be removed later this week, and the fire information line will adjust hours of operation to 8am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Questions regarding hunting, hunt units, and licenses should be directed to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, (970) 870-2197.   Closures: A new forest closure order is in effect for areas near the Morgan Creek Fire. Some form of long-term area closure will remain in place for the duration of the fire, likely into the late fall or winter. Forest Service Road 400 (Seedhouse Road) and other Forest Service roads and trails in the closure area remain partially closed to entry for public and firefighter safety.
