Current Situation: Command of the Morgan Creek Fire transitioned to Type 4 management at 0600 today. Fire activity has been minimal for the past week, and a right-sized area closure is expected in the coming days. Warm, dry weather is expected through much of the week, with smoke from west coast fires possible. Crews continue to patrol the western and southern flanks and focus on improving indirect line on the northern flank. Crews will remain in the area in the coming weeks. Updates will be released as new information is available. The fire information line will remain in operation from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.   Closures: A forest closure order remains in effect for areas near the Morgan Creek Fire. Some form of long-term area closure may remain in place for the duration of the fire, likely into the fall/winter. Forest Service Road 400 (Seedhouse Road), and other Forest Service roads and trails in the closure area remain closed to entry for public and firefighter safety. County Road 64 between County Road 129 and Forest Service Road 400 is limited to emergency and local traffic only.

Fire Restrictions: Routt County is in Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. The Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests and Thunder Basin National Grassland are in Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
