The smoke that has settled in the area is from the western coast. Crews continue mop-up and patrol of the western and southern flanks working towards the wilderness and previous fire footprints from the 2020 Middle Fork and 2002 Burn Ridge fires. The focus on the northern flank is improving indirect line construction to protect homes and infrastructure.   Closures: A forest closure order remains in effect for areas near the Morgan Creek Fire. Some form of long-term area closure may remain in place for the duration of the fire, likely into the fall/winter. Forest Service Road 400 (Seedhouse Road), and other Forest Service roads and trails in the closure area remain closed to entry for public and firefighter safety.
