Salt Fire Daily Update for July 12

Salt Fire Wildfire
News – 7/12/2021

This is the last Salt Fire Update issued by California Interagency Incident Management

Team 2. Future updates will be issued by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest

Shasta-Trinity National Forest, July 12, 2021 — The Salt Fire remains at 12,650 acres with 85% containment. Just over 500 fire personnel continue working on the Salt Fire and within affected communities. Nightly infrared flights over the fire have not located any significant areas of heat. Areas of lingering smoke within the fire are visible, however, the perimeter of the fire remains stable with no growth over the past few days. Firefighters are continuing to monitor containment lines while they conduct suppression and repair efforts.

Due to the extreme drought conditions that persist throughout the area, residents and visitors are asked to use caution when doing yard work, towing vehicles or trailers, or other outdoor activities that involve flammable heat sources. Forest visitors are reminded that fire restrictions remain in effect throughout the Shasta-Trinity National Forest prohibiting building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire.
