Salt Fire Daily Update for July 11

Salt Fire Wildfire
News – 7/11/2021

Shasta-Trinity National Forest, July 11, 2021 — The Salt Fire remains at 12,650 acres with 70% containment. There has not been any perimeter growth in the last two days and infrared detection does not reveal significant areas of heat. More than 800 fire personnel continue working on the Salt Fire and within the affected communities. Firefighters are strengthening containment lines. Areas within the containment lines creating smoke are being addressed and are located well within the fire perimeter.  Fire suppression efforts have incorporated methods that support repair.

Shasta County Sheriff’s Office rescinded all evacuation orders, but evacuation warnings remain in place for some areas of the fire. Old Mill Road at Gilman Road is open to residents only.

Fire restrictions remain in effect throughout the Shasta-Trinity National Forest prohibiting building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire.  Due to the remarkable heat and acutely dry conditions, everyone should be extremely vigilant. For more information visit:
