WILLOWS, Calif – Sept. 2, 2020 – The August Complex currently sits at 261,204 acres and 20 percent containment. The breakdown of the fires is as follows: Hull fire (13,177 acres; 10 percent contained), Doe/Glade fire (223,310 acres; 23 percent contained, and Tatham fire (15,594 acres; nine percent contained).
Last evening, the Doe/Glade fire moved beyond the containment line north of Government Flat and moved toward the Howard Meadows/Howard Lake area. Firefighters were able to control the fire quickly.
There was growth on the Hopkins fire (8,096 acres; 0 percent contained) Monday due to southwest winds. Crews continue to create containment line in the north area of the fire within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
A Hotshot crew conducted a successful burnout operation between the fire and the containment lines in the Kingsley Glade area west of the Tatham fire. There was increased activity within the fire containment line around Mitchell Place, Dawson Place, and Beehive Flat. Firefighters continue to hold this area.
Burnout operations continue along the northwest area of the Hull fire at the intersection of the M1 and M61 roads southwest of Lee Logan Camp.
