Due to increased fire activity on the eastern edge of the Cameron Peak Fire, a mandatory evacuation is now in effect for Pingree Park Rd. In addition, Hwy 14 from the Fish Hatchery east to Kelly Flats is also under mandatory evacuation. Because of fire activity on the northern perimeter, west of Sleeping Elephant along Green Ridge moving toward Roaring Creek, there is also a voluntary evacuation in place for the Crystal Lakes, Red Feather Lakes and Goodall Corner communities. A voluntary evacuation is also in place east of Pingree Park Road to Stove Prairie Road. Voluntary evacuations mean you should prepare to leave but you don't have to yet. However, if you have animals to move or are responsible for people who need assistance and may need more time. please leave now. It's a good time to think about the 5 P's: People, Pets, Papers, Prescriptions & Pictures that you might want to take with you. And please stay tuned to the Sheriff's information site at nocoalert.org. Russ Long, Operations Chief with the Portland NIMO team has details.
