Effective at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region is allowing access to some National Forests in California (see news release PDF below).
The Klamath National Forest and Six Rivers National Forest are two forests affected by the Red Salmon Complex that remain entirely closed.
The Shasta-Trinity National Forest has partially reopened; however, portions of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest near the Red Salmon Complex remain closed under Closure Order No. 14-20-11. See the PDFs below for a map of the closed area and a complete list of closed trails and roads on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
All ignition sources (e.g., campfires, gas stoves, grills) continue to be prohibited on all National Forest System lands throughout California.
