The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Advisory in effect through Friday afternoon for the Susitna Valley, Kenai Peninsula and Copper River Valley.
Kenai Peninsula: Expect dense smoke again on the western side of the Peninsula impacting Homer north to Kenai, Soldotna, Nikski and Sterling. Cooper Landing will continue to be impacted due to the proximity to the fire. Look for some improvement there as the weather pattern changes Friday evening. Seward should continue to see improvement in air quality during the day. There may be some smoke settling into town at night with inversion.
