Lolo National Forest
U.S. Forest Service
24 Fort Missoula Road
Missoula, MT 59804
The Beeskove Fire transitioned to a Type 4 Incident Command structure one week ago. Some firefighters remain in the area on patrol and are working on backhaul of some equipment. Most hose lay remains in place as a precautionary measure, or until wetting rains or a season-ending event occur. Additionally, the Forest Service and TNC closures remain in place also as a precautionary measure in the event that firefighters and equipment would need immediate access to these areas, or if enough precipitation occurs over the coming weeks to begin suppression repair in the area. Suppression repair will not occur until consistent wetting moisture or a season ending event occurs and firefighters have determined that the need for suppression equipment or additional suppression actions is unlikely.
The following Forest Service roads remain closed to all activities until suppression operations are completed:
East Fork Rattlesnake Road (FSR #2112)
Mineral Peak Lookout Road (FSR #2120)
East Twin Creek Road (FSR #2117)
Upper Twin Creek Road (FSR #2119)
The existing Nature Conservancy closure remains in effect.
The Missoula Ranger District and partners, would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation. Updates will continue to occur as activity merits.
