Evening Fire Update: The #CanyonlandsFire remains at 40 acres and 0% containment. A majority of the fire activity today occurred in areas that had previously partially burned. Crews worked through the day to construct indirect fireline on the north and northwest side of the fire's perimeter. Crew efforts were supported by helicopter water drops as hot spots emerged.
Public Meeting Friday: A public meeting has been scheduled for Friday, at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Canon City.
Matt Norden, Incident Commander for the Canyonlands Fire, and Keith Berger, BLM Field Manager, will provide an update on the fire and be available to answer questions from the public.

The meeting will be held at the Fremont County Office of Emergency Management at 201 N 6th St in Cañon City. Please use the back entrance on the west side of the building for access to the meeting. For more information, please call (719) 315-0690.
