WHEREAS, the period from April 1 to August 31, inclusive of each year has been designated the fire season pursuant to AS 41.15.050, and,
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources extended the 2019 fire season to September 30, 20 I 9 by Public Order under her AS 41.15.050 authority; and,
WHEREAS, the State Forester determined under AS 41.15.050 that fire risk conditions have moderated, and,
WHEREAS, the State Forester has further determined that it is no longer necessary to prohibit certain activities which unduly increase the fire danger pursuant to AS 41.15.010, AS 41.15.050 and 1 lAAC 95.450 due to recent rainfall, increased relative humidity, and favorable changes in the Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System (CFFDRS) indices,
IT IS HEREBY THE ORDER OF THE STATE FORESTER, beginning on September 4, 2019 at 8:00 A.M. Alaska Daylight Saving Time (ADST) the burn closure on state, private and municipal lands in the following Boroughs and geographic regions is rescinded:
• Kenai Peninsula Borough• Matanuska Susitna Borough
Individuals are reminded that, by law, they must clear the ground immediately around the fire free from materials that will carry fire; may not set the fire on land not owned, possessed or controlled by the person without the consent of the landowner; and may not leave the fire before extinguishing it completely pursuant to 11 AAC 95.412(d)(2) and 11 AAC 95.412 (e)(l)(2)(3)
