The Richfield Ranger District plans to conduct a prescribed fire today (6/11/2019), on the South Monroe Mountain Prescribed Fire Project. Today's efforts will focus on black lining/buffering Unit 15, to secure future burning in additional units. This project is a continuation of similar prescribed fires that have been implemented as part of the Monroe Mountain Aspen Ecosystem Restoration Project.
The project is located near Rock Springs, Big Table, and Manning Creek, approximately five miles west of Greenwich and seven miles east of Marysvale, Utah. If prescribed conditions are favored, additional burning will take place throughout the coming weeks.
