Ramshorn Fire Update September 12

Ramshorn/SHF Lightning Fires 2019 Wildfire
News – 9/12/2019

The Ramshorn Fire is now 100% contained and had minimal fire behavior on September 11, consisting of burning down interior woody pockets. A total of 188 personnel are currently assigned to the Ramshorn Fire which is 280 acres in size. This fire is located northeast of Coffee Creek and is burning in the North Fork of Ramshorn Creek north of Forest Road 133. The primary activity today on the fire is the repair of any suppression damage and removing equipment from the fire.

At least 20 fires on the Trinity River Management Unit were started by the September 5 lighting outbreak and all of these fires, including the Middle and Ramshorn Fires, are being managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team (Jim Yacoub Incident Commander IC). Most resources assigned to these fires will be released by September 13 and control will be turned over to the local unit. This will be the last update.
