Forty-four acres of prescribed burning were safety accomplished yesterday, April 2.
Fire staff planned to continue burning today, April 3, but the National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for increased fire danger through this afternoon due to high winds and low relative humidity values. Winds may diminish by dark and if they do, fire staff may begin burning later today.
Always check www.weather.gov for predicted weather conditions in your area before any outdoor burning.
Weather permitting, fire staff plan to finish the Brushy Mountain Grouse Management Area Prescribed Burn Thursday April 4.
