Bald Mountain Wildfire
News – 10/4/2018

Bald Mountain Fire: The Bald Mountain fire is 100% contained. Bald Mountain fire received more moisture
yesterday. Suppression repair is the primary focus of activities on the Bald Mountain
Fire. These activities seek to mitigate resource concerns caused by fire line construction
and the use of roads to access the fire. As much as possible, fire and land managers
want to restore the roads and areas where fire lines were constructed to pre-fire
conditions. This work is specifically designed to minimize sediment delivery into
streams and rivers and minimize gully and surface erosion. Approximately 38 miles of
suppression repair have been completed, including 20 miles of dozer line and 10 miles
of handline.

Pole Creek Fire: Pole Creek Fire: Pole Creek fire
received more moisture yesterday. The fire activity
yesterday was minimal. Crews worked on direct line
in the Covered Bridge Area and east of Spanish Fork Peak. Like the Bald Mountain
fire, suppression repair continues over the fire area. As of yesterday 101.5 miles of
repair were completed, including 69 miles of dozer line and 19.5 miles of hand line.

Pack Fire: There was no growth on the Pack fire yesterday. The fire is approximately
1-2 acres and burning in steep, inaccessible terrain. The fire is being monitored by
crews.

Weather: Rain will continue over the fire area today. Showers will decrease in
coverage this afternoon. Temperatures will continue a cooling trend today.
Tomorrow will bring more rain and cooler temperatures to the fire area.

until further notice. The full closure order and map can be found under the closure tab on the Pole Creek Fire InciWeb page.
