Fire behavior was quiet today again around the eastern and southern edges of the fire. Firefighters continue to mop up along containment lines, checking for any hot spots or igniting vegetation that could throw spots outside of lines. They also began to pull hose and excess equipment from cold lines.

Strong winds in the late afternoon today caused an increase in fire activity on the western edge of the fire near Turner Creek. The fire pushed over the line, and crews are currently working to contain a small slopover with helicopters and crews on the ground. They will continue that work into the night shift. Strengthening lines on the western and northern sides of the fire is also a priority for tonight, in anticipation of an extremely strong wind event which is predicted for tomorrow. Firefighters also used tactical firing today to blacken unburnt areas south of Loveness Road.

Residents and motorists can expect to see smoke and isolated flames as unburned islands of vegetation continue to ignite and burn. Firefighters will continue to patrol and address any hot spots or hazards, like burning trees, that could threaten containment.

All mandatory evacuations on the Stone Fire have been lifted.
