ORDER

STINA FIRE TEMPORARY AREA CLOSURE

KAIBAB NATIONAL FOREST

North Kaibab Ranger District

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551, 36 CFR § 261.50(a), and 36 CFR § 261.50(b), the following acts are prohibited in the area described in this Order within the North Kaibab Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest, Coconino County, Arizona. The area is depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A.

PROHIBITION:

1. Going into or being upon the area. 36 CFR 261.52(e).

2. Being upon the trails within the area or described below. 36 CFR 261.55(a).

3. Being upon the roads within the area. 36 CFR 261.54(e)

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this closure order:

1. Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.

2. Any Federal, State or Local Officer or member of an organized firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.

AREA, ROAD, AND TRAIL CLOSURE DESCRIPTION

Area. The area depicted in Exhibit A and within the boundary described as beginning at Temp point; then east on FR 271 to the junction of FR 271 and FR 206; then south on FR 206 to the junction with FR 609; then east along FR 609 to the junction with FR 268; then south on FR 268 B to the National Forest Boundary; then east and north along the National Forest boundary to Temp point.

Trails. All trails within the closed area, and Rainbow Rim trail south from Locust Point.

Roads. All roads within the closed area.

This Order is necessary to protect public health and safety during suppression activities on the Stina and Wildcat fires.

This Order becomes effective at 6:30 p.m. on August 10, 2018 and will remain in force until September 15, 2018, or until rescinded, whichever occurs first.

Violations of these regulations is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor, by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months or both; 16 USC § 551, and 18 USC §§ 3559 and 3571.
