The focus for fire resources today was to continue suppression repair, patrol the fires edge and mop up interior islands of unburned fuel. Crews made good progress on fire suppression repair today. Based on today’s progress we anticipate completion by mid-day Friday.
A red flag warning was in effect today for upper Snake River Valley from 12pm to 9pm for thunderstorms and gusty winds. The highest threat is located north of a line from Arco to Driggs, ID. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will occur shortly.
At roughly 5pm a robust thunderstorm moved through the fire area as well as the incident command post bringing strong outflow winds and some rain. All containment lines held and no major events accrued from the outflow winds or thunderstorm.
Out of the 168 personal we have had on this fire, some have come from as far away as Puerto Rico, Illinois, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. As we move towards 100% containment some resources are being reassigned to other fires in Nevada, Idaho and California.
