The Klondike Fire is 72% contained and 154,663 acres, with

7,623 acres of growth over the last 24 hours. Fire is most

active at the confluence of Indigo Creek and Illinois River,

Snail/Slim Creek drainages, Little Silver Creek, and Montana


Smoke Today

Conditions continue to be dry and favorable for fire activity.

Winds will be predominately from the east, moving smoke

towards coastal areas such as Brookings and Gold Beach.

Agness will receive unhealthy levels of smoke, likely

throughout the day. Most areas, south and west of the fire

should expect good air quality conditions throughout the day.

Smoke Tomorrow

Conditions are expected to be dry, moderating by the

weekend. Winds will weaken a bit, but remain from the east,

continuing to send smoke to Eastern and coastal areas and

into Eastern Pistol, Rogue, and Chetco River drainages. Expect

the morning, evening and overnight hours over the next few

days, to have the most smoke.
