Smoke Report for Klondike Fire 09/23/18

Klondike Fire Wildfire
Announcements – 9/23/2018

The Klondike Fire is 72% contained and 146,498 acres. Fire is most active at the confluence of Indigo Creek and Illinois River, Snail/Slim Creek drainages, Little Silver Creek, and Montana Springs.

Smoke Today
High pressure builds in today and conditions will become much drier. A strong Northeast wind will develop by evening and fire activity is expected to increase with the dry, windy conditions. Most areas were in good or moderate conditions yesterday, clearing out and continuing to improve by the evening and overnight. Today, expect conditions to remain good throughout most of the day. Developing Northeast winds could move smoke into coastal areas of Brookings and Gold Beach later today and overnight.

Smoke Tomorrow
Conditions are expected to be very dry into the coming week, increasing fire activity and smoke. A strong Northeast wind is expected to develop with the high pressure system settling over the area, which will likely send smoke into Brookings and Gold Beach areas.
